At StaffMeets, our cookie policy is simple: we only use what is strictly necessary to provide you with a smooth and secure experience. No advertising trackers, no third-party surveillance cookies.

A cookie is a small text file (often encrypted) that is downloaded onto your computer, tablet or smartphone when you visit a website. They allow your actions and preferences (such as your login session or chosen language) to be remembered for a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them every time you return to the site.

At StaffMeets, we apply the "Privacy by Design" principle. We only use cookies classified as Strictly Necessary — no consent is required for them as they are essential to the very operation of the service.
Session Cookie (Authentication)
EssentialName: authjs.session-token / __Secure-authjs.session-token
Issuer: Auth.js (NextAuth v5)
Duration: Session (expires when browser closes) or 30 days depending on configuration
Purpose: Keeps you logged in as you navigate between different Dashboard pages (Candidate or Recruiter). Without this cookie, you would need to re-authenticate on every page change.
Anti-CSRF Cookie (Security)
EssentialName: authjs.csrf-token
Issuer: Auth.js (NextAuth v5)
Duration: Session
Purpose: Protects your actions (login, logout) against Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) attacks. This cookie is a standard, essential security mechanism.
Language Cookie (i18n)
EssentialName: NEXT_LOCALE
Issuer: next-intl
Duration: Session
Purpose: Remembers your language preference (French or English) during your visits to StaffMeets, so the interface automatically displays in your preferred language.
3. Managing your preferences
Since we only use cookies strictly necessary for the basic operation of the application, they cannot be disabled via a banner on the site. Disabling them would prevent you from logging in and using the service.
However, you can always configure your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) to block or delete all cookies, at the risk of significantly degrading your experience on our platform.
4. Third-Party Cookies
StaffMeets currently does not integrate any third-party tracking tools (no Google Analytics, no Meta/Facebook Pixel, no behavioral advertising). Your browsing data is not shared with advertising networks.
The only third-party connection is with Discord (OAuth2) which handles your authentication. Discord has its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
